On September 3rd, 2022, the Marquette Marathon, Marathon RELAY, Half Marathon, and Wildcat 5K will return to the splendor of Marquette County. Ishpeming, which means “heaven” in Ojibwa, is the starting point. The route then descends into Marquette via the Iron Ore Heritage Trail. Athletes are famous in this community. It is honored to be the starting point of the Noquemanon Ski Marathon and is home to the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame. The race is short and fast, and it will end at the Superior Dome once more. The annual Marquette Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K, and Kids Run against a magnificent backdrop of wide paved walkways and park roads winding through lush forests, with breezes coming in off Lake Superior.

The beautiful beauty of the Upper Peninsula combined with lakeside vistas while running through Marquette on bike routes. This year’s Marquette Marathon serves as a Boston Marathon. The qualifying race for individuals interested in running the full marathon will take place on a brand-new course. The city of Marquette, located along the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, gets mild to moderately cool and occasionally cold weather in the late summer. Marquette County receives some of its highest rainfall on average during the race month. As you speed down Third Street, you’ll feel the excitement of our fantastic community, shops, pubs, and restaurants as you pass by friends and family. There are numerous great eateries, and the University of Northern Michigan gives the area a welcoming college atmosphere. In addition to the marathon, they offer a Blues Festival every Labor Day weekend. Even if you don’t come for the race, Marquette is worth a visit!
