Eben Ice caves
Eben Ice Caves of Rock River Canyon Wilderness Area is located near Eben
Junction, this hike meanders through a wooded area for about twenty minutes to where the
snowshoer will access the ridge of the canyon.
Hogback Mountain
The elevation gain of this mountain 680.00 ft (207m) with a 4 miles there-and-back trail. This trail allows pets in the area, but they have to be kept on a leash.
Marquette Mountain
It is host to alpine race events for numerous clubs, as well as their own race program. The ski hill is located a just few miles south of Marquette.
Fit strip
The loops are groomed for both skating and classic skiing but are also used by snowshoers throughout the winter. Grooming is on a needed basis and relies on volunteers and adequate snow.
Noquemanon Trails Network
Forestville Trailhead - It is a 50K system with point-to-point and loop trails including a range of difficulty from beginner to expert. No foot traffic on ski trails.
Mccarty’s Cove
The McCarty cove is just as worth visiting in the winter to see the impacts of Lake Superior's winter storms on the landscape, like the ice-blasted trees and the undulating pancake ice in the cove.
Presque Isle
A short walk along the closed road around Presque Isle Park to the cove itself affords views of the bay and the stunted, ice-covered cedars clinging to the cliffs in the winter.
